(Updated) Energy Efficiency Program Options for Local Governments under ARRA

This report features practices and programs that municipalities have implemented to save energy and create jobs (pre-American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA)). It is intended as a starting point for communities looking for ideas for leveraging Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funds. Descriptions of existing programs are listed alongside the DOE-issued guidance as examples of eligible activities that might be quickly ramped up and executed as ARRA-funded programs. A number of the initiatives are partnerships that include the local utility.
